Primary Strata - Video art by Xhico
"Primary Strata" is an experimental video art piece by Xhico. It integrates fashion, make-up, dance and music to create compelling imagery that is projected onto walls and other surfaces.
"Primary Strata" features the song "Git 'Em (Zombies for Money Remix)" by Steve Starks. Choreography and dancing by D'Kwan. Special thanks to Mathias Garcia.

Rick Genest Cover-up
Amazing video of fashion model Rick Genest (aka Zombie Boy) having his incredible body tattoos covered. He his best know for his role in the Lady Gaga vide "Born this way" and as a fashion model for Mugler.
The make-up by the Dermablend team takes away his trademark tattoos on his body and face to make him look like he has flawless skin.

Taking it back to the old school...
My friend from back in the day at Art Center posted this photo this week. We were neighbors during college in Pasadena. He's wearing one of the first shirts I ever made for Gig Design. It has a little devil on it.

Complex Geometries
Bryan at Weltenbuerger boutique on Hollywood in Los Feliz / Silverlake, turned me onto this brand from Canada, Complex Geometries. They have great basics with a twist. I wish more men's lines had this insight. I also wish their britches came in size 34! They stop at size 32.
If you like progressive fashion, check out Weltenbuerger in Los Angeles.

Tortura T-shirt design by Xhico
Tortura T-Shirt designed by Xhico for Woolves. This shirt designed is based on one of my woodcuts, "TORTURA". Originally created for a Dia de los Muertos exhibition as a limited edition print. This print was a tribute to people who have been tortured and publicly humiliated doing so.
TORTURA - GOLD - LIMITED EDITION T-SHIRT highly limited edition T-shirt. Same Tortura image, but printed entirely in gold foil. Only 12 available for Pre-sale. $35 each
The mask seen in the image is inspired by an exhibit of torture devices I saw while visiting Mexico. Iron masks were placed on women who gossiped and they were forced to wear these devices in public. Some were rigged so that if the women talked, they would injured themselves. For example, possibly slice their tongues or lips while encaged with these devices. The text below the mask is in latin and translates to "women remain silent in church".
Tees:
TORTURA -ACID WASH T-Shirt is available in the standard run as one-color natural ink on black. There are only 24 avaible of these for Pre-sale. $25 each
TORTURA - GOLD - LIMITED EDITION T-SHIRT highly limited edition T-shirt. Same Tortura image, but printed entirely in gold foil. Only 12 available for Pre-sale. $35 each
Both shirts availble for Pre-sale on Black V Neck Tees.
Available in Men's/Unisex S - M - L - XL - 2XL
ORDER NOW or wait until they hit boutiques in August!

John Varvatos "Artisan" Scent

One of my favorite colognes is John Varvatos' "Vintage"... it is masculine, without being too powdery or woodsy. Has a nice hint of leather... now he has released a citrusy scent in time for summer, called "Artisan". The bottle is same shape as his others, but covered in hand-woven distressed rattan. I can't wait to try this... who wants to buy it for me?
